George House Trust is the North West of England’s leading HIV charity. We aim to promote the best quality of life for people living with HIV. We are seeking a committed and experienced project co-ordinator to lead and develop our Positive Speakers’ Programme.
George House Trust is committed to challenging HIV related stigma and discrimination and raising public awareness about HIV. We are the UK’s second-oldest HIV social care charity and are recognised nationally as a campaigning organisation. We have secured funding from the Equalities and Human Rights Commission to develop an awareness raising training and information programme, using trained speakers, who are living with HIV. The programme will target schools, colleges, universities, voluntary organisations and employers.
You will lead and develop all aspects of the Programme; from training and supporting speakers to promoting the project, building key relationships with external organisations and reporting to funders. Your role will be crucial to the development of high quality training and information resources and ensuring that the Programme has maximum impact.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills and an ability to build relationships with a range of individuals and professionals.
You will need experience of managing a project, establishing monitoring and evaluation systems and reporting to funders. You should also have significant experience of designing and delivering training and information resources. You must be committed to challenging HIV related stigma and to supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds to achieve their full potential.
35 hours per week. Fixed term appointment until 31st March 2009.
Local Authority Scale - SCP 26-34 plus 8% pension contribution
(Currently £21,412 - £27,594 – pay award pending)
