Volunteering at Pride 2005 26th-29th August
Thank you to all those volunteers who have agreed to help out at Pride 2005! George House Trust volunteers will be helping out with tasks such as building the GHT float, collecting on the Pride Parade, helping with wristband exchange, staffing information stalls and helping at the Vigil.
If you have signed up to help, you will receive a letter in the next few days confirming details of where and when to meet etc.
If you are not planning to purchase a wristband for Pride weekend, please contact Laura who will arrange to meet you with a volunteer pass for the sessions you are helping with.
Volunteer Briefing
There will be a GHT Pride Volunteer Briefing for all those who are helping on Tuesday 23rd August, from 6pm-8pm at GHT. We will be providing info on how to staff stalls, GHT’s latest campaigns, and guidance for collecting and stewarding.
Wrist band Exchange
Volunteers who are helping with wristband exchange on Friday 26th August need to meet at the Box Office (corner of Aytoun Street and Minshull Street) at 4:30pm.
Preparing Float
Volunteers who are helping with preparing the GHT float need to come to GHT at 9am on Saturday 27th August.
Pride Parade!
The GHT float will set off from Red Bank (off Corporation Street, near Manchester Victoria Station). Anyone who wants to be on or walk with the float should be there at 12:30pm. Please bring as many people as possible with you! We need people to help with collecting and stickering on the parade.
Staffing Information Stalls
GHT will have information stalls in the Commercial Market and Lifestyle Expo. If you are staffing a stall, please meet at the GHT stall in the Lifestyle Expo. If you are not intending to purchase a wristband for the weekend and need a volunteer pass to access the site, please contact Laura as soon as possible. More info about how to staff stalls will be available at the Volunteer Briefing on Tuesday.
Helping at the Vigil
Anyone who is helping at the vigil needs to meet in Sackville Park at 5pm on Monday 29th August to help with setting up the site, selling candles, distributing programmes etc. More info about stewarding at the vigil will be available at the Volunteer Briefing on Tuesday.
